| Reducing your carbon footprint one wipe at a time |
|
Posted by: Trina| July 18, 2011 Even small changes can make a BIG difference. Consider this: if every Mama of a baby in the United States used one fewer diaper wipe today, that would be more than four million wipes kept out of landfills. Try to imagine how many wipes and paper towels we would use everyday to clean up those dirty faces, hands and bottoms. If we counted the amount of Mama's with older children that number of four million would sky rocket beyond believe. Ways you can make a difference is by using reusable cloth napkins and cloths when wiping those messy little ones after a diaper change or meal time. When making that small change you are setting a perfect example of where it's better to reduce than to recycle. So before you throw out those burp cloths or old cloth diapers cut them into little squares and stack them in a basket with your homemade wipe solution. The next time your little one needs a bit of cleaning just squirt some of the solution onto the cloth and wipe your little one clean. Yes, it may create a little more laundry but Mother Earth will be thanking you!So the next time your little makes a mess when eating one of our new Squeezes, Pouches or Tots because they are just that much fun....try using this homemade and more eco-friendly cleaning method. Homemade Wipe Solution Ingredients 2 cups water 1/8 - 1/4 cup of baby organic or all natural baby shampoo 2 - 4 drops of essential oils Directions Place all ingredients in a spray or squeeze bottle and shake well.
